The origins of this Cracking animal is closely related to the exhibition entitled “The Sixth Continent” hosted by Oriocenter in 2014. The concept of “Sixth Continent” is associated to the idea of “Platisfera”: an endless plastic island that has been developing in the middle of Pacific since the 50s because of human pollution. The tropical fish becomes the new symbolic inhabitant of this artificial continent in order to express environmental sensitivity and irony.
