The call of the wolves

July 29th - October 28th 2023 |

“The Call of the Wolves” is a Cracking Art project curated by Asilo Bianco. From Saturday, July 29 until the end of October, a pack of 50 large colorful wolves will colonize woods, streets, gardens, villas and balconies between Miasino, Ameno and Orta San Giulio.

The wolves will be arranged along the Nigra Trail, a path laid out by Itinerarium that starts from the Basilica of San Giulio on the island of the same name and connects the places of architect Carlo Nigra (1856-1942), a multifaceted figure who was extremely forward-looking and who shaped, redesigned and modeled the landscape of Lake Orta that we see today. The different stages touch on the parish church and Sacro Monte in Orta, Villa Nigra and its garden, the Church of San Rocco and the Giardino dei semplici in Miasino, the Villa with Monte Oro Park and the neo-Gothic Tornielli Park in Ameno.

Asilo Bianco is a working platform born in 2005 on Lake Orta, Piedmont, a generative gesture by artist Enrica Borghi. For years she has been working to regenerate forgotten places and to germinate the culture of a territory through the seeds of contemporary art. Asilo Bianco promotes a programming of online and in-person courses and workshops (Asilo Bianco Academy) and interdisciplinary cultural events. That of the association is a commitment that looks at art, architecture, design, cinema, literature, photography, social, and the environment.
